Just wanted everyone to know we will be playing this years JDGF Duncan tournament at a brand new venue. It will be at Twin Oaks Golf Club, played on the ball golf course. This course is designed to be Championship caliber and will very possibly become a permanent pay-for-play course in the very near future. We are very excited about having this new course in Duncan. We will have a First look at the course in Mid-September with an 18 hole mini tournament that will let you see the design what the course will play like in the Open.
Here are a few things about the tournament.
1. Camping will be available on the backside of the course at no cost, however there are no electric or water hook-ups, but you can pitch a tent or bring in your RV. (There will be a camp fire, if no burn bans are in effect, to be started and controlled by the owners of the property only. No individual camp fires allowed)
2. The course will be open for play Friday afternoon prior to the tournament for doubles and general play. Flex start doubles will be played starting between 2 - 4 pm and tournament pre-registration will be available in the Pro Shop.
3. Saturday evening, after play is complete, there will be a picnic style players dinner at the camping area which is beside the Course owners house. BBQ Brisket, baked beans and cole slaw are on the menu. After the meal, there will be a few bands play and a couple of kegs of beer to help relax and enjoy the music.
This will be a great end to the JDGF tournaments, and the owners of the Ball Golf Course are very excited and gracious hosts who are looking forward to starting the Twin Oaks Open to be held at their golf course every year in the future.
I will be sending out updates on the New Duncan course and Tournament as we get closer.
I am looking forward to the next 2 events and hope to see everyone there.
