Mobile is proud and excited to be hosting the 16th Southern National Pro Championship, ending the 2011-2012 touring season. After hosting the first seven SN championships, Mobile has not hosted an SNPC since 2007, a tournament in which still holds the cash payout record for the Southern Nationals and is still one of the highest-paying PDGA B-Tier tournaments ever. [url]http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/12709[/url] The SNPC is the culmination of a year's worth of quality disc golf tournaments in the Southeast, of which each qualifying tournament has a $2 per player fee, and these monies are collected to add to the Championship payout.
The tournament will be held September 1-2, 2012, in Mobile, Alabama. SNPC2012 is a PDGA B-Tier tournament and one of only nine USDGC qualifying tournaments, which includes the World Championships, all six U.S. National Tour events, and the Stockholm Open in Europe, a Major event. The USDGC has become arguably the most popular and prestigious disc golf tournament in the world, and Mobile is proud to be associated with this great event.
The biggest change for this year's SNPC is that ALL players must have played in one SN-qualifying tournament for the 2011-2012 season. [b]There will be no exemptions to get into SNPC2012. You MUST have 2Points2Play.[/b] The SN qualifying time period is June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012. This does not include if a player competed in either of the three 2011 Championship tournaments (SNDC, SNAC or SNPC). Players are not required to be current PDGA members to play the SNPC, although encouraged. The non-current member fees will be covered by the Southern Nationals and the SNPC.
